My name is James Miller (he/him/his), and I'm the Associate Vice President and Dean of Admission at Seattle University. Should you have any questions about Seattle University or the application process, please don't hesitate to schedule an interview or connect with me throughout the upcoming weeks or months.

    Contact me: JamesM@seattleu.edu or (206) 220-8040

I work with students from: East Coast, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.

My advice for students in the admissions process: The admissions process is a discernment where the ideal outcome is you finding a college that will nourish and push you in through the process of becoming the person and scholar you are meant to be, not a foot race that culminates in a trophy you display on your mantle.

My favorite spot to grab a meal in Seattle: Plum Bistro, 12th & Pike, for lunch. Get the macho burrito as a salad. For a special evening out, Violet (12th & Howell). Chef Belickis’ attention to detail and respect for ingredients is second to none. I stan the American Omakase tasting menu.

My favorite coffee spot in Seattle: My kitchen. Olympia Coffee freshly ground, Chemex, brewed by weight. It’s the only way to satisfy my coffee snob soul from beans to brew. If pressed, Victrola on Pike between Bellevue and Melrose brews a solid cup.

Please see below for opportunities to connect at my upcoming school visits or during interviews throughout the Fall.
